Hi, I'm Monse, the founder Tours with Meaning! At 17 a teacher tried to expel me from school because she thought I was a lesbian. Since then, fighting against LGBT+ discrimination has been a focus of my life. That's why I created this LGBT+ Tour, so that together, we can continue celebrating diversity.

On this tour, you may meet me or Felipe, my older brother.

Hi Everyone! My name is Felipe. I'm a musician by profession, a coach by vocation and a tour guide by passion. Being a guide for the LGBT+ Tour has been a blast as I get meet so many of you and hear your amazing life stories. Keep up the good work and see you soon in Santiago!

Review: "This was an exceptional experience. Fascinating to hear about the history of LGBT rights in Chile in the context of the dictatorship and how far things have come since then. Hugely recommended"

It was extremely meaningful experience in Santiago. I could learnt a lot about many on-going issues so far in Chile over decades but you might don’t know forever without their tour. Also as a historian in Korea, I can tell you the guide has researched a lot for the best quality of tour. The guide has provided me materiel for my better and farther understanding. My guide has explained to me in really easy english and I felt like being taken cared pretty well.

Very memorable experience learning about the struggle for LGBT equality in Chile. There’s no way I could have known about this topic while on my trip, had I not been on this experience.

My partner and I were in Chile for 2 weeks, and we both agreed this was our favorite experience. I highly recommend it! Francisco and Monse were so friendly and knowledgeable. We had been walking around the neighborhoods and sights we visited, but without this tour we would not have known the history behind the monuments and sites we passed. Bottom line: take this tour, and the other Tours With Meaning!

What a fantastic tour. Both of our guides (Monse and Francisco) were super friendly and knowledgeable about LGBT history in Santiago and Chile. They are both very welcoming people and make the whole tour enjoyable from start to finish. I could not have seen many of the places we visited or learnt about the stories they told me if I had not been with them. I would recommend this tour to anyone. You’ll enjoy it, feel included and leave having made a couple of new friends. Plus, you’ll eat amazing pizza too!

This was a great tour, Monse a great guide, and I learnt so much about the modern history of LGBTQ+ in Chile. As I was the only one joining the tour, it felt more like a friend showing me around the town and giving me important history to take note of. The tour is very well constructed, and Monse put the overwhelming amount of information into a story that even someone like me with zero homework done can follow. The story starts out on a hilarious note, goes into the dark time of Chile, a tragic but important breakthrough happens, and ends on a brighter future; so it seems to me, and I believe it will be, a happy-ending story. It was lots of fun walking with Monse, pizza in the park was awesome, and the tour made me want to learn more about Chile. Great experience I can recommend 100%.
