We will unplug from technology and embark on sensory awakening walk in nature on the south side of historic Boulder City with like-minded people. Our forest therapy walks are not hikes in the traditional sense as the entire walk covers less than a one mile distance. This practice is scientifically proven to reduce stress, boost your immune system and improve your mood and mental focus. We will slow down and reconnect with nature in a much deeper way then you may ever have before prior to this walk. The walk we will take is a mindful practice inspired by the Japanese, Shinrin Yoku, providing instructions for sensory opening activities along the way with shared stories and concludes with a tea ceremony using foraged plants from the area paired with some healthy snacks. This standard sequenced activities were designed to create a safe, meaningful, and relational connection between you and nature.

We will explore the Veterans Memorial Park located in historic Boulder City. It's an oasis in the desert with mature landscape and an Urban Pond that is home to ducks, fish and other beings. The drive to Boulder City is well worth exploring. This is a area that most visitors only pass through on the way to Hoover Dam.

Lisa was a wonderful guide. She had many tools to help incorporate all the senses in this forest therapy session: from music, to hand written scrolls, to treats and embellishments from her own garden. Although the wind picked up while we were out there in Boulder City, we still enjoyed our session. We connected with nature and with ourselves, unplugged from our hectic daily lives, and ended the three hour journey with a perfect little tea ceremony. This is a lovely way to start you day, week, month or year!

Lisa is perfect for this experience. She is calm and patient and allows all the time needed to complete the activities. The tea party was very special. I learned how much time it takes to relax and how to be patient with myself. It's remarkable how much we miss in our daily lives. Learning to be aware is an eye opener and well worth knowing. The experience was well worth it! There was wind and she was concerned for my comfort. It was unavoidable but I appreciate her caring about me. I would do it again.

This was an amazing experience for both locals and visitors. As a local, I’ve never taken the time to slow down, explore and experience the outdoors as I did with Lisa’s guidance. The various invitations she led gave us the permission to observe and share our thoughts in an open and safe setting. Living in world that can be stressful at times, this walk was a great reminder to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. I’m looking forward to exploring more of Las Vegas with Lisa in the future.

This was the most amazing experience! Lisa was an exceptional host and guided our group through several sensory activities. Following each activity, I became more relaxed and gained appreciation for what nature was offering. I would highly recommend this nature walk to get reconnected with yourself and your surroundings. The tea ceremony was an awesome conclusion, the locally baked cookies were an unexpected surprise. I cannot wait to take the rest of my family on this adventure.

We met at a park in Boulder City. Lisa explained the history of Forest Bathing to us and she gave us a series of what she called " invitations" to be present to nature in various ways. After each our small group got together to share our discoveries. We listened without commenting about one another's sharing. The walk was even better than I expected it to be. For my husband and I it was a very deep way to be refreshed by nature in a quite short period of time. Afterwards we discovered that we can come up with invitations for ourselves, too, and use them as a way to stop, get quiet, reconnect with nature, ourselves and one another. It was a life changing experience and Lisa was terrific.
