Common we're not! Discover the "most ethnically diverse urban area in the world," according to The Guinness Book of World Records.

We will meet at the Mets-Willets Point subway station (7 Line aka International Express), and visit the iconic Unisphere, which was created for the 1964 World's Fair. In addition to the history of Queens, we'll share tidbits about nearby Citi Field and USTA National Tennis Center.

And then, we will hop on the subway and visit Jackson Heights to experience the cultural diversity of the neighborhood, stopping by at a local taco shop for snacks. We will also visit a bazaar in which you can find merchandise from every corner of India, such as fabrics, incenses, and Ganesha statues.

From Jackson Heights, we will move on to Long Island City's waterfront, which boasts a breathtaking panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline for a photo op.

By the end of the tour, you will find that NYC is not just Broadway and Wall Street ("real" people live here), beauty is in the eye of the beholder (all kinds of people live here), yet we're not that different.

Originally from Tokyo, I came to New York City 28 years ago via LA, and have called Queens home for the past 25 years.

Starting out as a bicycle messenger, I quickly learned the streets of NYC, and then engaged in numerous odd jobs before becoming a real estate broker. But after 15 years of wheeling & dealing, I encountered a midlife crisis and decided to embark on a journey to find myself.

The path lead me to a career as a professional tour guide, connecting people to places, which I've always been doing. Although there were a lot of detours along the way, I think I'm heading in the right direction.
