Hola, soy Jorge, viajero nunca turista, escritor, fotógrafo y creativo.

We had a great time with Jorge and got to see a part of Mexico City that we never would have found otherwise. Perfect for those who live art and food! The experience is super relaxed and personalized, and it felt more like walking with friends than a "tour". He even gave us great advice on where to go for an overnight trip and a few restaurants to eat at. Thank you so much, Jorge! We had the best time!

Fantastic afternoon with Jorge - we really felt like we were enjoying an afternoon with a friend, as opposed to being on an organized tour. Jorge took us to some “off the beaten track” parts of the city and introduced us to a much more unique experience than a typical tour. He was knowledgeable and very passionate about the experiences and sites he was sharing with us. The Photographic museum and San Juan market were definite highlights, and Jorge provided great insight into the culture of Mexico City. The food experience at San Juan market was amazing - definitely for the adventurous!! I would highly recommend this tour with Jose to really see a different and intriguing part of Mexico City!

Exotic Food and Hidden Gems - A Simply Wonderful Tour. My husband and I weren't sure if Jorge was going to be able to make up for the fact that two spots on the tour were closed the day we went. But we were wrong. His knowledge and passion for the things he showed us more than made up for missing the Centro de la Imagen and the Pulqueria. In fact, there was so much to see, do, and taste that the tour ended at 7 pm instead of 4:30 (he does ask you if ok to go over time). It is hard to know where to start when talking about this tour. We started by touring the private libraries of some of Mexico's most famous writers and then we went the Ciudadela across the street. Afterward, our collective minds were blown by a walk through the San Juan food market - a sight to behold. Jorge knows everyone there as he does the tour 2-3/week. We stopped for a tasting at an exotic food vendor (think spiders, worms, scorpions and more). And then we went to a vendor who sold delicious and unusual marmalades and salsas...again with tastings of anything you wanted. After exploring more vendor stands, we ended up at a small restaurant in the market where Jorge helped us sample some of the most delicious and unusual foods. And, he taught us how to drink Mezcal for a full appreciation of this commonly consumed beverage. (First, you put a drop of mezcal on your hand and see if it smells too strongly of alcohol. Then, you take a small sip and, after swallowing, you breathe out to experience how quickly the alcohol flavor dissipates. Finally, you take another sip and breathe out through your nose to experience the herbal flavors of the drink). The mezcal he chose for us was excellent quality based on this taste test. We then we went to the "other side" of the Calle Ehe (presumably the A-side) to learn about the contributions of Sor Juana, one of the world's first feminist writers (and also a nun!). We explored Calle de la Reina where Mexicans go to enjoy the outdoor cafes. We took in the incredible street art that lines the street. We finished by having a luscious dessert (and more mezcal) at one of Jorge's favorite bars before saying goodbye to Jorge and our new friends from the tour at 7 pm. This was a most amazing day with a passionate and knowledgeable guide, our new friend Jorge. I highly recommend you take this tour. It will be one of the highlights of your visits to this amazing city.
