Mani in Pasta (hands in the dough)! What we offer is not only a cooking class. While preparing the dishes we talk (even in Italian, why not), we laugh and we learn. Marianna, the full Tropean chef, is the classic yesteryear lady, a lovely housewife who keeps the secrets of traditional Calabrian cuisine. In each session that we offer, we will make some fresh pasta and pizza (homemade method). Everyone have tried at least once to prepare some pizza, but the really good one is not easy to make... we reveal a couple of secret ingredients to add, as well as the doses, to have a great crispness. About the typical pasta of Tropea - 'fileja and maltagliati' - will be seasoned for tasting with 2 other exclusive products of the area: the 'sweet' red onion of Tropea PGI (as a vegetarian option) and the n'duja of Spilinga PGI, famous spicy spreadable salami based of pork and Calabrian pepper. All this in a jovial and cheerful atmosphere. Naturally, all accompanied with some good Calabrian wine that we will taste at the time of the aperitif and for the whole duration of the activity. At the end limoncello and homemade chocolate liqueur for everyone. Prosit!

I'm Nicola, the manager of Studio Italiano Tropea, an Italian language and culture centre for foreigners. Be side to the teaching of Italian, together with my closest collaborators, I offer unique recreational activities, dedicated to all of authentic experiences lovers and related exclusively to my area. I lived in the United Kingdom and Ireland and traveled a lot for work and leasure. I studied classical archeology in Calabria so I participated in numerous excavation campaigns in Italy and Europe. I also take care of organizing high-level cultural events (concerts, teather).

Everything takes place at our center of Italian culture. We have a large space for preparation, the cooking and also for the tasting (if we include our cozy veranda and the large outdoor garden). In the facility there is everything needed for any kind of need. The location is extremely central (just behind the main square of Tropea) and within walking distance from anywhere in the town. Anyway, a transfer service is also available on request.
