Transport yourself to the Pyrenees right in your own home. We'll explore the flavors and history of Basque cuisine during this immersive cooking experience, from my California kitchen to yours!

The Basque Country, located in France and Spain, is a cradle of culinary innovation and birthplace of molecular gastronomy. And San Sebastian is among the top cities boasting the greatest concentration of Michelin Star restaurants worldwide!

Together we will journey through Basque culinary tradition, make a 200-year-old dish called piperade (a vegetarian & dairy-free recipe), and craft a pintxo or two using the ingredients on hand with my secret technique which I'll share. We'll also talk about how to adapt this versatile and classic dish for breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner—which is especially handy for meal prep during the workweek.

Really enjoyed this experience. Alex was lovely and made the whole experience very enjoyable. The food we made was delicious with plenty of leftovers for breakfast, lunch and dinner 😁 Would highly recommend Alex’s cooking class! 👍🏻👍🏻

What a fun and informative class! I took fantastic cooking class by Alex. She is very friendly and her recipe was really great, and she thaught us Basque regions as well. I remembered to travel in San Sebastian! Great experience!

Wonderful class! I am part of the slow food movement so enjoyed the care and time it took to make this dish. It was actually pretty easy but the careful guidance that Alexandria gave was invaluable. I also learned a lot about the Basque region And it’s serve to intensify my desire to travel there someday. Another wonderful benefit was a delicious meal for the evening and it was carried into a lovely breakfast the next day. This dish is very versatile.

As a first time cook, I felt very encouraged by the structure, instructions and seeing other people cook. So it was definitely a great thing to try out. I now want to do more !
