Det skal I lave

We’ll meet and have a nice chat about the different types of shellfish we offer as well as how we grow them. Then we’ll get into how to shuck an oyster, with some hands on practice for you if you want! And I’ll also give you my tips and tricks for storing, preparing, cooking, and serving these tasty mollusks! There will be plenty of time left over for you to enjoy some oysters on the half shell at the end and also to answer any remaining questions you might have.

A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BS in Agricultural Business and a lot of on the job training I can answer almost all aquaculture questions around. With only 5 shellfish farms in the area I offer unique insights to the industry in general, the local culture, and how we’re different than other aquaculture areas.

Great experience for a bargain!! I’m someone who loves trying something new but likes to do it right. I loved being able to not only learn about the whole life cycle of oysters but also how to tell a good oyster from a bad, how to shuck, and how to eat. We had a great time and left with a dozen oysters and a new oyster knife, so excited to use what we learned!

This was our first Airbnb adventure experience and Lindsey was terrific at explaining all about her family’s oyster farming business especially since our group were all novices to raw oysters. We sincerely appreciated how she personalized the tour to fit our needs and questions, even when we went over the allotted time. Fun and very educational, highly recommend❤️

This was a great private experience we had with a family of four adults. Lindsey gave us lots of information on the history of the shellfish farm and information we would have not gotten elsewhere. After doing the tour we went ahead and bought a separate order of large and small oyster by the dozen to shuck ourself. The shucking oysters tour prepped us for being able to do it ourselves later and enjoy the large oysters. Shucking oysters can be a messy experience and jean/ shirt is the best dress attire, I would not suggest being dressed for the nightlife.

We thoroughly enjoyed Lindsey's tour and presentation. We always wondered how shellfish were farmed. She provide a very detailed and interesting view of the industry and her story of her family's involvement was unique and enlightening. We learned how to check on the provenance and freshness when picking out and buying shellfish from markets and restaurants. We also learned how to properly shuck oysters and were able to try it ourselves. The tour was rounded out with a sample of the oysters and a glass of white wine, which was the perfect ending to a very fruitful experience. We fully recommend it for totally new experience while in wine country!
