Welcome to How To Cook Sri Lankan Cuisine by Nilanthi! Let me walk you through the cooking experience. I can promise you by the end of this session you will end up loving Sri Lankan cuisine. > It’s time to put on your aprons and get ready to learn and explore. > We’ll be starting off with an introduction to the menu for the session. Thereon, you will be introduced to all the ingredients you will be using throughout the session. This will be followed by a quick briefing on handling the kitchen utensils. > Before we commence cooking we will prep all the ingredients. > It’s time to get down to business. I will take you through the recipes of each dish while we prepare the dishes.If you’re feeling a little tired from all the cooking, feel free to open up a fresh king coconut. > Throughout the session I will also share important cooking tips that I have learnt over the years, which would come in handy when preparing Sri Lankan cuisine. > Once, the menu is fully prepared I’ll be taking you through plating all the dishes according to the Sri Lankan way. >It’s time to enjoy the Sri Lankan meal you prepared. All participants will get the opportunity to actively engage and get hands on experience throughout the entire session.
I’m a Sri Lankan housewife of 28 years. Over the years of taking care and cooking for my family, I developed a love and passion for cooking. This soon turned into a hobby which I took a great interest in as the years went by. I honed my skills in cooking under several cuisines. But Sri Lankan cuisine will always hold a very special place in my heart, as it is what I excel at and provide for my family on a day to day basis. Over the past 30 years, I have gained a thorough understanding of the Sri Lankan palette and flavors that are unique to the Sri Lankan culture and our origins. Through this cooking experience I would love to share my experience and knowledge on Sri Lankan cuisine with all of you.
