I believe that stretching is a journey, and I have lived it! All my years studying stretching and contortion (with coaches from different countries, backgrounds & techniques) have shown me several different paths of this journey... and I can say I've learned the best from all those paths. Definitely the stretching journey is a process and all bodies are different, but the fact that I have experienced the journey of getting more flexible plus all my years of experience teaching people how to stretch, has shown me what works and what doesn't. I highly encourage you to give yourself the gift of all the benefits that stretching has! I also have to say: the fact that I'm a contortionist won't make me accelerate your stretching process or make my students do hard exercises that are not according to their level, so don't be scared! You will love the feeling after stretching your muscles! You will learn how to safely stretch your legs, hips, shoulders & back (if you suffer from lower back pain you'll feel how it reduces). Stretching has the potential to prevent injuries by preparing muscles for work before activity and increases blood and nutrient supply to muscles, thereby it decreases muscle soreness. Stand straighter, look leaner, and have faster muscle recovery from your workouts/hikes. Stretching also calms the mind, provides a mental break and gives your body a chance to recharge

I am a professional circus artist specialized on aerial hoop & contortion. I have 15+ years of experience performing in circuses and variety shows in Perú, Germany & USA. I have studied at professional circus schools in Perú, Brasil & USA. I have also done an Ashtanga Yoga teacher training which has led me to several years of practicing meditation, yoga & breathing techniques. I believe that I have a very good understanding on how the body works and what do you have to do to relax your muscles which will lead you to release any kind of muscle pain or stiffness. Other benefits of stretching, besides increasing your flexibility, is that it reduces the risk of injuries and helps you to get a better posture and coordination.
