Det skal I lave
We can start from your hotel or you may choose a meeting point in Évora (city). After a briefing we drive to the megalithic temples that surround the outskirts of the city. There are many but only a few are visited in regular tours of the region. This option allows you to see it from a different angle: the natural side of Alentejo’s landscapes, and less-known monuments. The off-road drive through the cork-oak forest also allows you to experience all the biodiversity of the region.
I’ve been living in the region of Évora, exploring Alentejo’s plains and hills on foot, bike and jeep. I’ve found the latter to be the most effective and inclusive option for people who can’t cycle or walk long distances, or just want a relaxing day to see the region. So, I created an itinerary with some off-road in the plains and cork forests, connecting the villages and monuments of the region. I talk about the relationship between the natural resources and human activities, as well as history, climate and geomorphology.

Her skal du være
There are beautiful spots around Évora that most tours don’t cover due to the difficult access, but we can do it in a jeep. Examples include stone circles hidden in the forest and dolmens in traditional villages. Driving between these locations, the rural landscape will give you a real sense of how the locals (the “Alentejanos”) live. Nevertheless, you also get to visit the most famous megalithic temples: Almendres and Zambujeiro.
